Crisis Prevention & Recovery
UNDPs global practice area Crisis prevention and Recovery encompasses both activities to address the consequences of “man-made” catastrophes such as war and armed conflict, and to the reduction of natural disaster risks. In Tajikistan, UNDP supports the country to consolidate the gains of the peace process in the 1990-ies, and is also assisting to mitigate the threats of natural disasters. Together with United Nations Tajikistan Office of Peace Building, UNDP contributes to improved respect for human rights in Tajikistan. UNDP also supports Tajikistan to get rid of the threat to life and health posed by land mines. Moreover, as the implementer of the European Union BOMCA/CADAP programmes, UNDP contributes to the establishment of a more professional and modern management of Tajikistan’s borders. UNDP's Programme on Disaster Risk Reduction is implemented jointly with Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Dfese under the Government of Tajikistan.
